A Note From The Editors

We're not a listing site. We're six neighbours who edit a guide.

Camden Bars was founded in 2017 by two former landlords of The Hawley Arms, fed up with sites that rank venues by who paid the biggest invoice. So we built the opposite: a directory of 247 drinkable spots, written and re-written every quarter by editors who live above the lock, advised by a board of nine Camden publicans who can pull a listing the moment a venue stops being good enough.

A listing with us is curation, not a paid ad. We won't sell you a "premium" tier. We won't move you up the rankings because you took us for lunch. We will, however, come back inside 90 days, order at the bar like anyone else, and tell 90,000 readers what we found. That's the deal.
